Dyrene Alex, Marty, Gloria og Melman vil mer enn noen gang hjem til sin hjemby New York. Når de slenger seg med et omreisende sirkus i Frankrike, går ferden igjennom flere kjente Europeiske steder. Til slutt klarer de å få innpass på en båt til New York, men gjensynet med dyreparken sin blir kanskje ikke helt hva de hadde foresett seg…
